For a U.S. citizen requesting an Colombia Visa, we will need the following:

Colombia Tourist Visa Documents:

  • A visa is not required for U.S. citizens traveling to Colombia for tourist visits.  A valid passport is required.

Colombia Business Visa Documents:

  • A visa is required for business travel.  The Embassy of Colombia requires a different visa application be submitted based on your purpose of business travel to the country. Please refer to their website to determine the appropriate application needed.

  • Passport required.
  • Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid on arrival.
  • Visa required, except for those holding normal passports, coming for touristic purposes only and for a stay of max. 90 days being:  nationals of U.S.A.;

Health Information:

No vaccinations are required to enter Colombia from any country.


  • Vaccination against Yellow Fever for all passengers visiting middle valley of the Magdalena river, eastern and western foothills of the Cordillera Oriental from the frontier with Ecuador to that with Venezuela, Uraba, foothills of the Sierra Nevada, eastern plains(Orinoquia) and Amazonia;
  • Malaria prophylaxis. Malaria risk – P. vivax (58%), P. falciparum (42%) – is high throughout the year in rural/jungle areas below 800 m. Transmission occurs in municipalities of the regions Uraba-Bajo Cauca, Orinoquia, Pacifico and Amazonia. Transmission intensity varies from department to department, with the highest risk in Amazonas, Choco, Cordoba, Guainia, Guaviare, Putumayo and Vichada.
  • Chloroquine-resistant P.falciparum exists in Uraba-Bajo Cauca, Pacifico and Amazonia. Resistance to sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine reported.
  • Recommended prevention in risk areas: III.; in Uraba-Bajo, Causa, Pacifico and Amazonia, IV.
